I had no trouble with it in Evolution, though I do not use other mailing
servers.
Once, I tried to configure Evolution to use both the "SSL" ports (993 for
IMAP and 465 for SMTP) and the TLS encryption; Evolution shouted "No STARTTLS
support" or "STARTTLS command not found". That was a while ago; note that the
"Configuration Settings" page states only there is support for TLS encryption
through STARTTLS with the ports not set as default for SSL encryption.
