Some versions of GNU/Linux will be fine long after this, or if you
configure/swap desktop managers. The big ones (KDE, Unity, GNOME 3 &
derivatives) are all going to eat up more ram than a 32-bit install will be
able to handle shortly. Recent versions of Microsoft Windows already need
more ram than a 32-bit system can handle. At least with most setups.
