No system having both an AMD CPU and Intel GPU prevents ThinkPenguin From using AMD CPUs. AMD does more to support Coreboot while all their GPUs (also ones integrated in CPUs) require nonfree software (in boot firmware and optionally for acceleration provided by the kernel driver). Some users accept having no graphics acceleration and choose AMD (less anticompetitive behaviour, lower prices).
