Hi Battery and welcome to the forums!

To install PeerGuardian (later just pglgui) on Trisquel GNU/Linux, open a new Terminal window (by pressing [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[T]), and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jre-phoenix
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pglgui

To add pglgui to the list of Startup Applications (e.g. those that will automatically start after you log in), also type the following:

ln -s /usr/share/applications/pglgui.desktop ~/.config/autostart

After you have successfully installed pglgui, you also need to whitelist some of the connections. By default, PeerGuardian filters nearly all of your connections, and software like Update Manager, Weather applets, Tor network, will refuse to work. To make it simple for you, here is a picture of my pglgui configuration:

Bear in mind that even after all of this, you can easily experience torrents or files from one-click hosting websites refusing to download. If this happens to you (like it happened to me), try to temporarily stop the PeerGuardian Daemon by right-clicking on the pglgui panel icon, and selecting Stop as seen on the following picture:

Good luck!
