By the time the Hurd is finished, Linux will be, like, 45% non-free software,
and users of 100% free distros (myself included) would end up having to
compromise functionality for freedom even more than we do now.
The Hurd is written by people who care about freedom, so he Hurd will never
have to have a 100% libre version of itself. Trisquel switching to GNU Hurd
could be the best thing that has ever happened to this distro, and would free
up more time for freeing Ubuntu packages and porting Ubuntu packages to the
Hurd, which can then be sent upstream, benifiting everybody.
And yes, i do know that will take much more work than it sounds.
