I didn't talk with Huxley personally, but the "soma" in brave new world seems
to be much more something like alcohol in our society; it's pretty normal and
accepted, and people need it in order to feel happy. Ritalin etc. is still
something people try to avoid;
so I think alcohol has better chances to become our "soma".
And yeah, it's a fantastic book everyone should read.
