The USB thingie gives you the best control money can buy. It's as good as  
Ethernet. Because you know what? When you want it off, it's off. No more  
trouble if the soft keys are recognised by the system. No more trouble what  
if the hardware button actually works. Do you want to save power? Pull if  
off. Trouble with the standby? Pull it off, than plug it in.
