As far as getting the Bios to work...I did two things and I am not sure which
was the culprit.
I had installed "grub-customzier" & "boot-manager" which I uninstalled THEN
did a re-boot into the Bios and changed the advanced settings (SATA AHCI
Controller) to compatibale. I saved and exited and BAM it booted from the CD.
