I just heard about it after the fact. I think Rubén's English is pretty good  
actually. I had more difficulty with other non-native conference attendees  
and certainly the local Spanish speaking population doesn't have nearly the  
grasp of English Rubén does. If you ask me he comes off as a well educated  
non-native speaker. Give it 6-8 months and he'd be pretty darn fluent (ie  
thinking in English fluent). That is to be expected though with somebody who  
uses English as a 2nd language.
