What's the alternative? The mess that is the current Trisquel 6/7 desktop  
which not only looks bad, but isn't that customizable? How about MATE? Sure  
if you want Trisquel to look like Gnome 2 and pull in all those Gnome 2  
packages and dependencies when the world moved to Gnome 3 and GTK3 years ago.

I tried Elementary OS in Trisquel 6 and hopefully the release Isis soon so we  
can get the desktop in Trisquel 7.
