If you liked trisquel in principle, why didn't you just switch to ubuntu?
I mean yes, the system you are using now is free software, but obviously you  
want to install the non-free firmware to make your wifi work, so why not just  
use ubuntu instead.
Btw, people here won't help you install non-free stuff, so you're better off  
in a debian forum.
