Is it really offtopic? The same sloppy development mentality pervades both gnome and systemd: constant endless development for no reason (except to pad a CV maybe): more is better, "cycles are cheap (no they aren't the time of 2x every year in speed is long gone). GEdit was completed years and years ago, yet is still messed with.

It's the same thing. Systemd had a similar bug with 99pct cpu spike too. The same bad practices lead to this. They don't KISS.
