What we can't do, however, is suggest/recommend/teach/install non-free software for the user.
For example, if he were to ask us how to make a desktop shortcut on Windows, Fedora, OpenSUSE, SteamOS or whicever non-free operating system there is (hypothetically assuming that all this operating systems would be using some non-free desktop environment, which is not always the case, but anyway), then we must ask him to look for support on the appropriate community, and not here.
