My system has an external USB-connected HDD in addition to the internal HDD,  
both running Trisquel 7, and the internal HDD has a mostly unused Windows 7  
installation that came with the notebook. Grub demands a password for the  
external instance of Trisquel but _not_ for the Windows 7 installation !

Not a complaint ... just an observation.
