/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash contains only the line "FRAMEBUFFER=y"
/lib/plymouth/themes/default.plymouth contains:

[Plymouth Theme]
Name=Trisquel-logo
Description=Trisquel-logo example plugin.
ModuleName=script

[script]
ImageDir=/lib/plymouth/themes/trisquel-logo
ScriptFile=/lib/plymouth/themes/trisquel-logo/trisquel-logo.script

[script-env-vars]
example_env_var=example env var value

I've attached the output of my boot.log file.  I didn't notice anything wrong  
in it.
