Good news! My sounds now working appropriately. "Alsa-tools-gui" only shows  
up when I search with synaptic package manager, from within settings. I  
couldn't find it before because it doesn't show up if you use the "add/remove  
applications" GUI, accessible from the start menu. Definitely going with  
trisquel as part of a dual-boot system, when I set it up. It's the only  
distro I found with a desktop environment I really like, that also has full  
compatibility with orca. In terms of wireless adapter, what's the community  
opinion on the one with the 5dBi antenna, V.S. the 9dBi upgrade?
