I was thinking the same thing. The panel transparency is too good.  
Personally, I was hoping for either XFCE or MATE. I like them both equally  
well. He has to move to something permanent, and flashback isn't. And it has  
to be something that doesn't demand compositing because Linux-libre doesn't  
support all video cards. I like the decision.
