The problem is the lack of free firmware for most Wifi chipsets.  Try  
Trisquel 8 Alpha and see:  
http://jenkins.trisquel.info/makeiso/iso/trisquel_8.0_amd64.iso

You would also get better performances using the integrated Intel graphical  
chipset, not the GeForce card (assuming it is recent).
