I'm unsure from your question, 8bitDev, if you are able to flash by hardware
method - I can't talk about that.
I have flashed a T60 being absolutely not very hackerish. The guides are at
some points a bit confusing, but with patience and help (e.g. here), it's
really easy.
Remember that for each model you have to check the configuration, in your
case probably processor power is most important. From this site you can check
