That's a problem with the MATE live desktop ISO. It hasn't been updated since  
xf86-video-* packages were changed to simply be xf86-video-intel,  
xf86-video-nouveau, and so on. I've tried manually changing the packages in  
the install script, but there were some other hiccups I don't recall. The  
Parabola main ISO without the MATE desktop works fine though.
