Recent versions of GNOME Videos can search and play YouTube videos, as well as Vimeo and perhaps a few other sites. mps-youtube also searches YouTube, but it won't play videos on my machine. Its UI is also not a shiny GUI app like Videos is, so recommending Windows users to go from using the site to using the terminal is kind of embarrassing.
