Please do not ignore context. I said there's no use for a *libre version* of PlayOnLinux, because the whole point of it is to play proprietary games. If PlayOnLinux doesn't have its installation recipes and configuration values for proprietary Windows-only games, it does nothing for you, because that's the whole point of using it. If you're only playing libre games, PlayOnLinux does nothing for you, because you can just use a repository.
