My laptop has a Kaby Lake microprocessor (7th generation, which succeeded  
Skylake).  That one:

I had some graphical corruptions (on some applications only) when I was  
running Trisquel 7: its X server was too old, I believe.  I face no graphical  
problem with Trisquel 8, using its default kernel and its default X server.   
No audio problem either.
