Hi chaosmonk, I'm using Quod Libet¹ (QL) for this purpose. No only can it
scrobblize to either Last.fm or Libre.fm, but it also can handle podcasts,
and it interfaces with MusicBrainz², allowing for automated metadata and
cover-art lookups. There is also a powerful scripting language built in to QL
which is very handy for the serious digital audio archivist. Hope this helps.
