Hello Ethan,

I am not familiar with Type 633, but you could try to connect the heat rate
output from the heater to the room input by adding new Gains in the Type 56
zone. There you can connect radiative and convective power from the heater,
choose the most appropriate, by input variables which you must first define
in the Type 56 building component. Thereafter you can connect appropriate
outputs from the heater to these inputs.

Since you mention that the heater has a fan, you can also connect it to the
room by adding a new Ventilation. I think this is the most common way of
specifying heating and cooling equipment outside of the building component.
Add air flow temperature, RH and room airchange rate as inputs to Type 56,
and connect them in the Ventilation setup. See Examples/HVAC-building on
how to do this.

Kind regards,
Knut Erik Enerstvedt

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Help: connecting type 633 to type 56

Hello,

I am just becoming familiar with TRNSYS and have come up against a problem
I can’t seem to work around.

I am trying to model a single room (type 56) with an electric space heater
(type 633), but I can't figure out how to link the heat rate output of the
heater to the room input. The control signal is working appropriately as
is the heater (i.e. when room temperature drops, the control signal
activates the heater increasing the heat rate and fan power), but there is
no associated rise in space temperature.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Ethan Lust
