I like Dave Mielke's proposed format for the status line. The only problem with it is that the status words "Contacting" and "Buffering" wouldn't fit, and neither would the percentage of the buffer that has been filled. So, for these two states, perhaps the line should contain the status word and the percentage buffered when appropriate, and nothing else. A status line like that would look like the messages that you currently get when the player is contacting or buffering. I could make it so that this kind of status line is displayed when you press s and compact output is turned on. If you press s with compact output turned off, perhaps the player could output something like this: Playing Elapsed time is 3 minutes and 15 seconds (5%) Length is 1 hour Bit rate is 16K I'm thinking about replacing "bandwidth" with "bit rate" throughout the program. I'd like to know what other users think of Dave's suggestions and this response. THank you. -- Matt Campbell Web site: http://www.crosswinds.net/~mattcamp/ ICQ #: 33005941
