Rudy, Yes, you can play these files with trplayer and realplayer 8.0 in linux. The url you gave us does not play, but for adifferent reason. I got the message:
Requested file not found. The link you followed may be outdated or inaccurate. when I gave the command trplayer rtsp://streamer.whyy.org/encoder/live.rm Make sure you have audio/x-realaudio and audio/x-pn-realaudio defined in your .mime.types file in your working directory and that you specify the file types ra,rm,ram and that you list the two audio/x data types from .mime.types in your .mailcap file and specify trplayer %s as the program to execute. It should play. pico the .ram file and try to play the url directly with the trplayer command. Maybe they are just offline right now. I gather this is WHYY public radio in Philly. Good station. You can even play .smi and .smil files if you install X-Windows. I think these two file-types need some X libs. If I am wrong about this, someone please correct me and explain it to all of us. -- Bill Gaughan [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Wed, 5 Dec 2001, A. R.
