Howdy,

I've been using TRPlayer for a while, it's great! I've just come
across a new situation, and it's prompted a question I want to pose
here...

Is it possible, or would it be possible with some source changes in
TRPlayer, to have streams downloaded "as fast as possible"? I have a
situation where I'm downloading a couple of hours or so of news in a
series of streams, and putting it in to my mp3 player so I can listen to
it during my commute. This is, obviously, being done at "listening
speed", so it takes the full two hours or so.

What I'm wondering is if we could somehow extend TRPlayer to download
the streams as fast as the server would send them. I've been told that
some servers will not do this, and that they will refuse to send streams
out at faster than listening speed. However, I have not been able to
confirm this is true.

However, we know this can be done for "buffering" a stream prior to it
starting playback, and the amount of buffering is configurable in the
player. What if TRPlayer "buffered" the entire stream? Would that
work?

Thanks for a great, great tool! I look forward to everyone's thoughts
on how this might be done...
