I do not at all downplay the importance of the OT, but throughout the NT the "new covenant" is mentioned by Christ, and discussed extensively by the Apostles. When there is a "new covenant" the "old covenant" disappears (Heb 8:13), does it not? Why have a "new covenant" if nothing has changed from the "old covenant"? Well, Marlin, what changed that required a "new covenant"? If you choose to live under the "old covnenant", I guess that is your right, but I live under the "new covenant", the one that Christ sealed with His blood.

The Jews are only one of several tribes originating from the seed of
Abraham! The "OT" is a history of the origins of all people, from Adam
onward, and from Noah onward. The "OT" plan of salvation was intended to
encompass all people. Israel's children were singled out for a purpose
leading to Jesus through whom all other nations would be blessed.

You cannot dismiss the "OT" as merely "the history of the Jews." Read!
