Terry,
My happiest “church” memories are of a time when
I worshipped in a home church. It was the most genuine type of church I ever
experienced. More intimate. Children all present amongst us. Real meeting of
the needs of one another. Real utilization of our spiritual gifts. Unfortunately,
the pastor took a “real” job at a “real” church. As
much as I like our present church, I wish I could find a home church like that
again.
What do you find are the differences?
Izzy

We changed our way of living slightly about three years
ago when we gave up on the institutional church and formed a home
church. If you are interested in what the differences are, let me know
and I will explain. If you aren't interested, don't feel bad.
Most people aren't.

The basic message is that what we call church today
is not at all what God intended it to be. Viola documents the origin of
the things that constitute todays worship service, and shows where most of
them originated from psgan practices after the death of the apostles.
Well worth reading.

Terry, So other than that, what did you think of the book?
What was the basic message? Izzy

Just finished Frank Viola's new book. After
three hundred pages and ten million footnotes, I can tell you that he never
mentions the primitive Christianity book you sent him or it's author.
Since he did not reply to you, possibly he never received it?
