The explanation is in the answers to the questions.  They will be forthcoming today along with scripture references to prove them.  You may be surprised to find that some of the "Biblical" things people believe have no biblical origin, just stuff that our parents heard from their parents, who heard it from their parents, ad nauseum.
 
That is the reason why I am on a one man crusade to rip the three wise men from every manger scene.  I may team up with Marlin and we will have a joint effort to save the world from goofy ideas.
