I would then expect the small-minded sorts to seclude themselves (or others to choose to not associate with them, therefore "forcing" them into seclusion) and become entrenched/enmeshed in their own self-righteousness, claiming martyrdom for Christ and thereby creating for themselves a box...one in which they may not be able to figure out how to break out of. And in the end...be greatly disappointed.
