The Evidence paints a different picture of King James. No historian accepts the theory of some hack out to sully the name of his enemy. The King had many enemies specially those of POPISH origins.
To this day Canada for one celebrates Guy Falwkes day [sp} Many attempts were made on his life why not attempts on his name?
The evidence from others about him call him "Chaste"
The evidence from his own writings, he calls Sodomy the most abominable & he warns his son to he sexualy pure.

I did some study on this subject some years ago. It seemed to me that the
evidence that King James was homosexual was inconclusive. There was a guy
named Weldon that made the allegations 25 years after the king's death, but
his writings show extreme bias against the Scottish people in general,
considering them all to be fornicators and homosexuals. Some of the
allegations center around certain letters that were written that seemed too
affectionate. On the basis of this kind of evidence, it could be argued
that Jesus was a homosexual because John laid his head on the chest of
Christ during the last supper. I personally believe that the rumor that
King James was a homosexual to be false gossip.
One thing we do know is that King James took a keen interest in theology.
He was well educated in various languages such as French, Latin, Greek, etc.
He was not at all like our modern politicians in regards to intellectual
ability in theology. He responded to the suggestion of a new version by the
Puritan John Reynolds because he did not appreciate the theological slant of
the notes in the Geneva Bible. It seems to me from some of John's comments
that he might be confusing King James I with the earlier King Henry VIII.
Peace be with you.
