I have gone back to your post a few times to think about and digest it, JD, and I am particularly appreciating the section below:

Debbie

I see an individual reality and a corporate resulting  (a continuing action) described here in this Galatian passage.    It is something that happens to me  --  this immersion  --  but it is something that happens to the corporation.    As many of you as "have been immersed"  is a passive verb !!!  It is something that happens to us  (to me).   We are being immersed fully and completely  by Another (hence the "faith of Christ") and in this immersion process we are "putting on Christ."   This "putting on Christ,"  I am told, is a putting on as one would put on clothing  ......   one leg at a time, a sock, a shoe, a head covering.

A person  is not born into the family of faith a full-grown child of God  -- but one of many contradictions and personal battles.   I believe that this "putting on" is something that God does to us in the immersion process.   In fact, speaking for myself,  I believe I can say that I know this to be true. But more than a personal and individual "putting on,"  we have process that creates a corporate body  --  believers put together by this immersing.   I will leave it at that  --  but there are very important implications as we tie what happens here in this forum, as we tie TT to the fact of this immersing process.
