Amen on 2 of 3 counts. You misunderstood what was a joke vis a vis (I like this soon to be overworked _expression_) the 'surpassing of Paul'. Sadly, David constantly MAKES HIMSELF THE ISSUE. He's moderately literate. He has more than an average apprehension of Scripture at the surface level. He can, it would seem, smile from time to time. He is, as to some things, quite self-deceived. Apparently, you have noticed that also. I'm liking you more sentence by sentence.

Subject: [Bulk] [TruthTalk] Judgment Begins at the House of God

From: "Lance Muir" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
You, David, have a 'hard time' understanding lots of things. The reason you do is between you and God reflecting the state of your heart.  IMO both Slade and Gary show more discernment, in some areas, than yourself.

Lance, why can't we discuss issues rather than David and the state of his heart.  I'm sure we can agree that none
of us are "there" yet and this includes David whether or not he presently sees it.  If the apostle Paul could write to the Church at Phillippi and say that he hadn't already attained, either was already perfect (Phil 3:12) but was following after I think we can safely lay those claims aside.  But then you did claim that one of your theologians had surpassed the apostle Paul and this scripture also contradicts your "incarnational" doctrine because what Paul was focused on attaining or apprehending was "resurrection from the dead" - And so it looks as though we all might need to lay down some things as we wait for the "perfect" to come doesn't it?    jt
