Yes. The church is too big for me  -- but "me" is not the point!!   The guy made The Message a sense of economy (to use the current language of the day) that works there in the Springs.   The very same approach probably would not work elsewhere.   Those who plant  know full well the disappointment inherent in trying to imitate a successful work  of the Lord from another place and time.   Cornerstone Church in Fresno is a downtown church that is one of the most effective in the nation for getting the message to the gang--banging side of life.   The preaching is hell fire (but full of grace in the end).  The fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom (knowledge).   And Jim Franklin is not afraid of a little hell fire and damnation sort of thing.   But he is a minister of grace.   He just knows that many a tough guy understands only one thing, in the flesh  ---------------  fear.   Franklin (the pastor) would fail if he took that very same message to North Fresno  (yippieville).  Peoples Church has over 10,000 in attendance.   It quit the Assembly of God denomination and stresses a non-sectarian coming together.   God has filled their worship hours, as well.   Very different stroke--------------   same God.  And, in reality, the same message, I think.  And, I personally believe the RCC serves purposes of Divine  Consideration that no other approach can mediate.

Does she attend Ted Haggard?s New Life Church? Ted married my younger son and his wife when my son graduated from the AF Academy.  A wonderful man! Even though he pastors a ?mega? church, he took the time to mentor a handful of cadets one night/week at the Academy.  iz

Our daughter attends a church in Colorado Springs  --  around 15, 000 strong  -  a church started in the basement of the pastors home with just he and his wife 10 years ago.
