I've been thinking about it some more.  It seems that on the purely fleshly/human level there are the basest forms of human beings who are at the swine level.  They live like pigs in every aspect of their lives, from being physically filthy to being coarse, merciless, violent, uneducated, loud, uncultured, unrestrained in their hedonism, vile and stupid in every way.  Then at the top of the spectrum you have the very cultured, educated, intelligent, mannerly, clean, thoughtful, and accomplished in the arts and music, etc. 

 

Then there is the spiritual parallel.  There are the spiritually sinful, selfish, stupid, unclean, immoral, rebellious and mockers of God.  On the opposite end of the spectrum are those who know God, serve Him, and are forever growing in His grace and love.  Often the fleshly/human level parallels the spiritual level of a person.  But not always. Sometimes someone has a real heart for God, but has had no one to teach them on the human level how to rise up.  Sometimes one has no heart for God at all, but has the appearance of being on a very high level humanly speaking.  Those are the ones, for example, who produce "art" that is ugly and/or blasphemes God.  Those are the ones who become liberal senators who drown their secretaries, or presidents who commit sodomy in the oval office.  You get the idea.  Only the lost are fooled by them.  izzy

I have known some really sorry white folks and I have known some fine black folks who have a mansion waiting for them, but the black population is about seventeen percent in this country and the prisons are about sixty percent black.  Some black folks will swear that this is because they do not get fair trials but the truth is that a higher percentage of them are criminals.  A portion of this problem must be blamed on the black churches, who have become more interested in changing lives with social programs and handouts than with a life changed by being born again.  What pork would have to do with it is beyond me.  I eat bacon every Sunday morning and it hasn't caused me to kill or rape anyone yet.  As a matter of fact, I spend a portion of my time cleaning up the trash thrown on the roadside in front of our place.
I have a theory that the slave traders  only captured and brought here the stupidest of those available.  The smart ones did not get caught.  Survival of the fittest type of thing.
Possible solutions to the problem?  Maybe teach them to fish instead of giving them fish?  Maybe integrating the churches?  Maybe genocide?  Who knows?  Integration didn't help much.  Just brought the drugs from the ghettos to the schools.

On another note, just in case you have not heard.  It is now illegal to say the pledge of allegiance in the schools.  Reason?  The words 'Under God".

Really sad story, Terry.  I believe it after seeing what that theatre full of inner city church folk did to trash the theatre with soda and popcorn and candy wrappers-it was unbelievable.  Perhaps that is why the Lord commanded the Israelites to avoid pork.  I truly believe there is such a thing as I can only describe as a Pig Spirit.  People who have fallen to the lowest possible moral state have it.  And they aren't all black folks.  I came across a program on TV last week that originated in England in which a team of two women would go in and clean up someone's filthy home and get it looking decent.  This program showed them cleaning a single white woman's house which was the most horrific cat feces filled pit I could have ever imagined! I would have burned it down. And she actually looked like a decent person herself, so you never know. Hopefully a few of such people (from New Orleans) will be exposed to a different way of life, if they are given the chance to get a glimpse that there is another way to live maybe they will choose that way.  Some know nothing else because they've never even seen another way to live. Meanwhile, serving such people without anger would be the epitome of Christlike servanthood. It would certainly be a growing experience to try to show them a better way by example.  I keep in mind that one of the dearest, most beautiful and ladylike Christian friends I ever had was a black woman named Dale Battle.  She was a real inspiration and role model for me. She died in a car accident when she was only in her 40's, and I have missed her so much. izzy

Carolyn:  Got this e-mail from a guy that lived in Canton, Miss, when Jerry and I were there.  He and his family moved to Texas.  Here is what his Mother & Father told him about the People from N.O.

 

 

Here's a story for you....................as witnessed by my dad and mom.

At the state line between TX and LA, there is a HUGE, brand new rest area.
It's NICE.
Okay, here's the story.  Last Friday, my dad, who works for TxDOT, answered
a call for TxDOT employees to go help with the refugees at this rest stop.
So, after working ALL DAY Friday, he and three guys from his office left for
the state line at I-20 and Waskom, TX.  Working that evening was a state
trooper, several sheriff's office deputies, Red Cross workers, TxDOT
employees, and other local volunteers.  These buses from New Orleans start
pulling in.  They let the people off to potty, eat, and rest.  As they get
off the bus, they are greeted and shown to the restrooms--where they pee all
over the walls, floors, mirrors, etc.  They did not even flush the toilets.
Left the restrooms in a HORRIBLE mess.  The local Burger King resturant
donated burgers and hotdogs and had people there cooking.  Two black dudes
walk over to see what's being cooked and one says to the other, "Man, I
don't want none of that shit."

 

Other volunteers are handing out bottles ofwater.  The people take them, drink two or three drinks from the bottles, and throw them on the ground.  My dad and his coworkers spend their time picking up trash and taking it to the very large and OBVIOUSLY placed trash cans.  (They ended up hauling off two HUGE truck loads of trash from these people).  

 

He said WASTEFUL wasn't the word. Other volunteers had brought in
snack items, such as chips, crackers, gum, small candy, etc. There were
ladies there making snack bags for the people and handing them out.  These
nasty, nasty people would take the bags, dig out what they wanted and throw
the remainder on the ground. BRAND NEW FOOD ITEMS!  

 

Daddy said one deputy got so mad he yelled at them to "STOP WASTING THESE GOOD FOLKS MONEY BY THROWING THE FOOD AWAY.  IF YOU DON'T WANT IT, THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS RETURN IT TO THESE NICE LADIES!"  He was hot! Daddy worked pretty much all night. He and my mom said the people were HORRIBLE.  Nasty, filthy mouthed, ungrateful.  TxDOT had to pretty much scour the Rest Area and restrooms after they left.  

 

My dad went home and slept most of the day Saturday, gotup sick and had to go back to bed.  Remember, he'd been in the hospital not two weeks ago with chest pains (he's okay now, but still!).  The man went to help these NASTY people after working ALL WEEK!!!

 

So, after hearing this, I could really care less about a lot of them.
Idiots and human debris.  I am more resolved now to send MY donations to the
officers and firefighters. Forget these IDIOTS!  They are fools and it's
mean, but Texas does not need any more of those!  GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to add one more thing.....

Why are all these fat blacks lying around on cots sleeping while white
people are lining up by the thousands to SERVE THEM MEALS???

I am sorry but it's starting to piss me off that we're expected to serve
these lazy assed "evacuees" indefinately.  Why the hell can't they line up
themselves and help unload all these trucks and cars full of FREE stuff?
Okay, let them have a day or two of rest but then put those folks to work
taking care of themselves.  Why the hell should any of them want to get a
job when they can lay around all day in free air conditioned stadiums
where they don't have to spend a dime and they have TV, entertainment and
education and great food?  Houstonians are going nuts being nice to these
people, free hamburgers, free admission to the Childrens' Museum and
Museum of Natural Science, etc.  Show your LA license and everything is
free. Like I said, a short time is definately warranted after all they
have been through but it's my opinion that the worst thing we can do for
them is to allow them to do nothing.
