Hi, It seems some don't understand which channel is for, so I want to clarrify this point.
Codereview is to talk about code and in some way only about code (style
in some cases but now we have the bot). So the goal of the talk on
codereview is to generate a proper patch that can be included. In any
case a discussion out of this scope should be started there.
Issue tracker (beside of reporting bugs) is to talk about the problem
and the solution. So the goal is to have an idea about how the change
must be done and how should the result be. And of course, it is not the
place to talk about the code.
Mailing list has 2 kinds of discussion:
- Talking about general changes, ideas, concepts etc. Such
discussion should resul into an issue on the tracker.
- Bringing to a larger audience a discussion started on the tracker.
Rem: a codereview should have at least an entry in the tracker when it
is not an obvious change/fix.
