Hello,

to use tryton in my business, I would need basic pos (point of sale)
functionnality. Right now we abuse the sales object, but it is not
clean and quite cumbersome to use.

We don't need any fancy touch/color/picture interface, the usual
tryton sales interface is sufficient for us. But not the workflow
which is not really adapted to direct sales and payment.

When a sale is encoded, we need to be able to pay it and generate the
stock moves and possible invoice as fast as possible. The current
sales workflow requires us to quote then confirm the sale, switch to
invoices, then open and pay the invoice, print it, then switch to
Shipments to open and send the corresponding shipment. This whole mess
should be replaced by «one swift move» that takes care of everything.

The possibility to make pos sales without an assigned party and
without invoicing would be a nice plus, but is not strictly required
for us (we have had a generic «pos» client for 10 years, he is part of
the house by now :-) Of course, the possibility to generate an invoice
is a must.

If not directly integrated in sales, the pos workflow must be able to
take an existing sale as a base (convert a sales to pos ?) and convert/
cancel/use any existing document in the sale (existing shipping or
invoice, acting smartly depending on their state). Actually, grouping
multiple sales in one pos document would be cool, but not mandatory.

This has already been discussed a bit on irc with cedk, but in French:

Has there been any work on a pos module for tryton, any spec or
blueprint ? What is the prefered way to go forward on this ?

Thanks,
--
Rémi
