Hi,
I´m currently setting up a rsync backupserver with trustix 2.1, with the
goal to backup complete machines for hotstandby. Unfortunally there are
hardware differences between the rsync machine and the servers to
backup. Nearly everything works fine expect the network interface. For
example the server is a dual intel with scsi disks and an realtek
network card while the rsync machine is a p4 with ide and an intel
network card. For the rsync i´ve disabled the /etc/sysconfig folder to
keep the hardware settings of the rsync machine and only get the
ifcfg-stuff and the network file from the server. When I now boot into
the server system on the rsync machine everything comes up without any
problems expect the network interface! During startup there comes up a
message "Can´t setup eth0 - realtek... not found". While hwconf holds
the hardware parameters of the intel board, network shows the settings
of the backuped machine so my script works as expected. I really took a
close look at some other system files but can´t figure out which file
holds the infos about the realtek network card. Can anybody enlight me?
Best regards,
Mike Bobkiewicz
