How can I know whether it is ok to remove them?  How do I know what
libraries are used and which are only required if I make use of them in
my own code?  I can't believe that everyone is supporting adding
webmacro, castor and jython as requirements, but I guess I am going to
trust the judgment of the rest of you.

I cannot say I like the current system either.
