Hi,

although I'm a Maven newbie I guess you can achive platform independecy
with Jakarta POI, but I don't know how wide the word approach is and
if we ever can hanlde the horrible document file format system :)

So someday somewho can build a really platform indepency part.
It's the same thing with ant's rpm task.... :)
