As it happens, I had to integrate XMLC with Maven b6 
last week. I hacked a quick and dirty plugin to run 
XMLC from Maven:

+) Start ANT 1.4.1 within a JVM
+) Run XMLC within ANT

Well, that is not a contender for "Most Elegant Maven 
Plugin" but it works. Give me shout if you need a copy 
of it (it is currently too ugly for contribution)
