The expression language supports 'or' and 'and' operations using either of
the common tokens ('or', '||', 'and', '&&')
So you could do

name.equalsIgnoreCase('bar')}">

</j:when>
<j:otherwise>
do something different
</j:otherwise>
</j:choose>
