Hi,

I am just about to write a maven.xml to automate some of our build
procedures.
I just want to check that
a) This makes sense (ie I am not missing some essential existing maven
functionality)
b) Someone has not already written a plugin to do this

Basically, it will do the following.
1) Create a .batch/timestamp directory
2) Set the basedir to this directory
3) Fetch the src
4) Increment a build/version Number (via properties file)
5) Call the batch build targets (dist:deploy site:deploy)
6) (now that all that has succeeded) Commit the inremented version in SCM
7) tag/label the SCM
8) Have a cigarette.

Essentially this will be done at the individual project level.
At the super-project level, we will use the reactor to ensure this occurs
with all the sub-projects.

Cheese,
Nick
