I've had no problem doing exactly this - maybe its an oversight. Did you happen to include the extend in master.xml as well?

Otherwise, I suggest running with maven -X and see if it gives you more info.

Hi, I am using CVSHEAD Maven. I am close to finish porting an Ant J2EE build
to Maven but encounter a problem. My project is structured as follows:

master/
  project.xml
  ejb/
    project.xml
  ui/
    project.xml
  startup/
    project.xml

Each project.xml in the subcomponent "extends" the master project.xml by
using <extend>../project.xml</extend> (similar to what Commons does). In my
Master maven.xml, I have

<project xmlns:j="jelly:core"
         xmlns:m="jelly:maven"
         xmlns:u="jelly:util">
  <goal name="all">
    <m:reactor basedir="${basedir}"
               includes="*/project.xml"
               goals="java:jar"
               banner="Building"
               ignoreFailures="false"/>
  </goal>
</project>

I suppose that means invoking "maven all" at the master level would invoke
"maven java:jar" in each subproject. But I got the following error instead:

Starting the reactor ...

BUILD FAILED
..\project.xml (The system cannot find the file specified)
Total time:  2 seconds

What did I do wrong??

Thanks
Charles
