Russell,

The Turbine project is very much alive. There has been a recent milestone
jar of turbine 2.4 made available and it is hoped that 2.4 final will be
released soon.

Current documentation is sparse. The Turbine Development Kit (TDK) which
used to be the main start point for users has seen little activity for a
while. A version of the TDK was updated for turbine 2.3 but I don't believe
that it was ever released.

There are a couple of alternatives. Henning has been working on a maven
plugin which, I believe, gets a new project set up. I have not used this but
I understand it is very good. There are more details on this if you look in
the mail archives. Hopefully Henning will chip in with more information.

Personally, I am more familiar with the antelope example application which
is available from http://zebra.tigris.org which is a running application
using the latest version of turbine and associated libraries and which
provides some documentation on how it works. There is also a guide detailing
how to convert the antelope application to be the start of your own project.

There is a good community around Turbine and you should find that questions
posted to the list receive a helpful response.

Regards,

Peter

Subject: What's up?

Turbine doesn't seem to have any release activity since 2003? I also noticed
the user guide is very sparse. Is the project still alive?
Where do I go to get a user guide that is complete?
Many Thanks,
Russ
