Are you using a different database? Check for reserved words. Also, check 
for references to other tables. I think there used to be a "feature" that 
if you referenced any one table in one schema.xml file it also had to be 
in that same schema.xml file. Do you have more than one schema file or 
just the one?

Also check the dtd version it is validating against to your xml file
