yea, this is where you might say, I'm out of luck.

here's what I have tried:
1.1.8 on freeBSD (3.4).
1.1.7B on a linux box (red had 6.1)
1.1.6 on a solaris box (solaris 7)

(I don't have administrative control on these boxes; best I can do is beg; 
hopefully, the 1.2 freeBSD port will be done soon ...)

I can really crank up the memory on the solaris box but still no luck; it
gets farther than on the other platforms, but then dies...

On the plus side, it has forced me to read the source :)

Can Ant be config'd such that all the source files don't have to
be read in before any javadoc is generated?
