I don't know that the "site-wide headers and footers" section is the best
place to discuss template functions. Popular usage seems to be defining
site-wide content in the master.kid and relying on the body match template
to pull in content for any files extending that.
If I get a chance I will work up a separate doc on template functions, if
that seems appropriate.
